Which nutrition approach is best for you? Food has several meanings to each and every one of us. With the way in which most of the world lives today, it’s not surprising that many have lost touch with how food and eating serves our health. Yet food has the magical ability to nourish our mind, body and soul.
Clarice is passionate in guiding people to become empowered over their own keys to health through nutrition and lifestyle. She loves to help make sense of the science of food and health and turn it into real ideas with practical advice.
Clarice has always loved preparing food and spent 10 years working as a chef, even running a taverna kitchen one lovely summer in Greece. Through this time was a desire to help people heal with food, which lead her to complete her Nutrition and Dietetics degree. She now has over 20 year’s experience as a nutrition coach and dietitian in teaching hospitals, a large digestive and women’s health clinic and then since 2007 in her own busy and successful clinic of Dietary Specialists.
Growing up in a family practicing whole food nutrition and nature cure medicine, Clarice has always been a holistic and progressive dietitian and nutritionist. But after a few years as busy business owner, wife, mother and forever running to finish her ‘to do list’, in 2009 she was diagnosed with a health condition. This is when her own practice truly became her own experience.
Using her knowledge and ability to access and read the science, together with seeking the foremost holistic practitioners lead her to heal, using emotional work, nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, far-infra red sauna, energy medicine, movement, detoxification practices and finding a greater joy, breath and way of being.
In 2011 and twice again since, Clarice loved working on the volunteer program at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat and experienced inspired living in a place of eating nourishing food, sleeping deeply, working close to the land, practicing and learning amazing activities for energy, vitality and health of mind, body and spirit.
The key to fully individualizing a person’s health program arrived in 2015 when Clarice completed the Truly Heal Coaching certificate. This has given her in depth training in assessing each person individually for their own imbalances and inflammation, using functional diagnostic testing where needed, correcting the likely areas of imbalance and so supporting the body, mind and spirit to heal more effectively.
In a time where there are so many different ways to eat, drink, move and think, it is all too easy to feel overwhelmed. But Clarice truly believes that even if there are several routes to the mountain top, you are best to take the one path that suits you best to reach that summit. Just because there are many thousands of healing approaches does not mean you need to do them all. A wise and carefully made choice of modalities including nutrition, movement, breath and practices to give energy, wellbeing, joy and purpose in life can often mean less is more effective.
